I loved your story about birdwatching with your dad—he sounds like an extraordinary person. I can see where you get your love of nature. And the slug bit—you are a true nature girl to take care of slugs!

I came across The Old Oak by chance and how glad I am that I did. What a wonderful film. Very poignant, very beautiful. And yes, I cried.

Firstly, I love that you put a slug in your pocket - this made me laugh out loud. Secondly, it seems we both have migration on our mind as the whooper swans just arrived on the lake beside our house and I am overjoyed to see them! Thirdly, I wept at the Wild Robot too, like proper crying. Thoughts on migration are so painful and complicated - this is a beautiful piece, Ciara xx
