The Fulmar have started to pair off, soaring with grace on the updraughts to find a perfect spot on the face of the cliffs; cosying up on precarious little ledges, seemingly not ideal for things like eggs. Soon they’ll be sharing their space with Kittiwake and the rock will be loud with activity; the noise matched by Guillemot and Razorbill on the sea stacks and Eider, Oystercatcher and Black headed gull by the shore.
As always, I love your pics! The seashore, the rhubarb (mine won’t be ready for 2 1/2 months!) and especially sweet to see your little one working away in the polytunnel 😊 Wishing you the best for your cookery school!
I love this raucous opening of seabirds. I am not familiar with them at all so I’m very inspired to get out and find some on the west coast now.
Thank you for this honest insight into how you think. I identify so much with the question of authenticity around social platforms. I want to delete it all on a weekly basis but as a writer, I also crave an audience for my work. It’s very hard to navigate it and I’m relieved to know you feel the same.
I, for one, am glad you write here and I’m very excited about the cooking school 👏
They are beauties, a cousin of the albatross and real love birds as they mate for life. The little dark but of feather behind their eye gives them a kind look. Thanks so much for your support Beth the balance is so tricky and I’m so happy to connect with you again in life here! X
